The perfect house for your northern Michigan vacation. Our place is close to a paved walking/biking trail called the TART Trail, with a peek of Cedar Lake, and about a block west of West GT Bay with access to a Marina and Boat Launch. It is situated at the base of the Leelanau Peninsula and 5-10 minutes from downtown Traverse City depending on traffic. We absolutely love this home and know that you will too!

Good to know

We love our home! We do everything we can to make it family-friendly, welcoming, and comfortable. We have a large deck, plenty of seating, a stone campfire ring (please bring your own wood or it’s available for purchase at places nearby) and we're across the street from Cedar Lake, which has a boat launch. Unfortunately, there is not a swimming beach on Cedar Lake. It's a great little inland lake for waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding. There is room for a boat trailer to fit in the driveway. We are two blocks from Harbor West Marina and a 15 minute walk or 2 min drive to Greilickville Harbor Park where there is a playground, swimming beach, pavilions, charcoal grills, etc. A little about the house: The lower level (finished basement with an egress window) is a nice space with the TV, a comfy, high quality queen sofa bed and a beautiful bathroom with a rainforest style shower. There is also a little children's playroom on the lower level. You have access to the entire house, except a few storage areas. The main floor has a large entry area, perfect for storing your beach toys, towels, stroller, or luggage. There is an open concept kitchen, dining room, and living room with ample seating. Front living room looks out the front window, has a peek view of Cedar Lake. As well, the main floor has two bedrooms. One has a queen-size bed and the other has a king-sized bed. This floor is perfect for kids that want to be on the same floor as their parents. As well, the main floor has a full bathroom with a subway tiled shower and bathtub. The kitchen is well stocked with all you might need to make your pancakes and coffee in the morning, or use the gas grill for an amazing dinner. The upper level has a landing that has two twin beds (one mattress is on the floor as a trundle style) and then a door that separates the bedroom. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed. This space is classified as one bedroom, but it's sort of like two. Because the twins are in an open area, it has to be walked through to get to the bedroom, we didn't classify it as an extra bedroom. Our four season bungalow-style house is the perfect northern Michigan getaway!

Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

We have a great neighborhood and we want to make sure our neighbors and guests enjoy it. Please don't have music and gatherings that are too loud, especially at night. You are welcome to use the campfire pit, please bring your own wood. Please do not use the scrap wood behind the woodpile, as it has some nails and we want you to be safe. Feel free to use any sticks from our yard or stick pile. Please make sure it is completely out when you go to bed. Also, after 10:00 please keep your voices down we have neighbors that like us and we want it to stay that way :) But if you want an awesome place to stay, that is right by the water, we'd love to have you!

Guest Access

There is a long enough driveway to fit a boat on a trailer and a few cars. Everything except a few closets. No garage access. Access to laundry, kitchen, two bathrooms, three bedrooms.

Location

Traverse City, MI, United States

5 MINUTE WALK Toward the Bay West End Tavern has great bar food and is right on the water. If you walk down to Elmwood Park, it's about a 5-10 minute walk toward Traverse City right on the water. The park has a beach, playground, and BBQ. The Children's Museum is across the street and there are large schooners you can see down there. As well, you can walk about a block down to the Cedar Lake boat launch if you want some lake time. 10 MINUTE DRIVE If you leave our house and walk left (west) the Cedar Lake access and TART trail are there. About a 20 minute walk north on the TART trail, you'll find DeYoung Nature Area, it has some great short trails, it's about a .25 mile hike in to the water. There's a secret little picnic area on that water there. Also our favorite food places are: Chef's In and Mary's Kitchen Port for sandwiches, Food Trucks and drinks at Little Fleet (in the summer it's a quick dinner and kid-friendly). Also we love Amical, Georgina's, and Taproot for sit down food. 20+ MINUTE DRIVE In the summer, downtown TC can get busy. If you want to get away, head north to Suttons Bay. Hop Lot is a local favorite, with food, beer, cider, outdoor games, and a campfire. Wineries we love are: Mari, Bry's, 2Lads, and Shady Lane. If you're looking for a great perch basket head north to Knot Just a Bar, it's worth the drive. We love hiking Pyramid Pointe and Empire Bluffs.

Christina’s place was very clean and homey. Lovely linens. It worked perfectly for me and my family. Christina stayed in touch with me along the way which I really appreciated. Would gladly stay here again!

Christina is a great host, we have stayed at her property multiple times. She is very accommodating we had to add an extra day last minute and she was able to make it work. Thank you
